Senior post-doc position in molecular cardiology

A full-time, fully funded, research position as senior post-doctoral fellow for 3 years is available in the Laboratory of Molecular Cardiology at Policlinico San Donato-IRCCS, Milan, Italy, one of the main Italian hospitals for cardiovascular diseases. The lab is located at DIBIT1 of the affiliated Ospedale San Raffaele-IRCCS, Milan. The position is financed by the project POS T4 CAL.HUB.RIA cod. T4-AN-09, CUP E53C22001470001, of the Italian Ministry of Health.

The focus of the Laboratory of Molecular Cardiology is on the deregulation of the noncoding transcriptome in the cell and tissue response to hypoxia and ischemia. Particular attention is devoted to complicating factors, such as diabetes mellitus, and to cardiovascular disease mechanisms shared with neurological diseases. The following qualifications are absolutely essential for the successful candidate:

  • At least 2 years of post-doctoral experience;
  • Solid experience in molecular and cellular biology;
  • Advanced level of independence and willingness to supervise junior lab members and students;
  • Expertise in data analysis and statistical procedures;
  • Basic bioinformatics skills;
  • At least 2 original science (not reviews) publications as first author in peer-reviewed international journals;
  • Advanced communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to participate in grant and manuscript writing, both as PI and as collaborator.

Desirable qualifications are:

  • International experience;
  • Experience in the cardiovascular field;
  • Experience in single-cell RNA-sequencing;
  • Experience in epitranscriptomics
  • Italian language communication skills.

The salary is competitive and proportional to both experience and qualifications.
